All dogs must be licensed every year with the City. A dog licence helps protect your pet by providing an easy-to-identify dog tag and registration with the Coquitlam Animal Shelter. If your pet is lost anywhere in the world, the fastest way to be reunited with your dog is by this dog licence. If your dog is found unlicensed you may be issued a ticket.
The City will send a Dog Licence Renewal Invoice every year when your dog licence needs to be renewed. Dog licence renewals can be paid for online.
Please notify the City when your contact information has changed, you have moved or no longer have a dog.
If your dog falls into one of the following categories you may be eligible for discounts that are not available using the online application;
1. Your dog is less than 6 months old;
2. Your dog is new to your family within the past 30 days;
3. You moved to Coquitlam within the past 30 days and your pet was licensed for the current year at your previous address.
